Hello and welcome! I'm Naomi Lamy – also known as The SEN Mummy and Teacher. I'm an independent, fully qualified primary school teacher based in Cambridgeshire, specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEN). As someone who is dyslexic and part of a neurodiverse family, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work.
I support families, children, and schools in nurturing the social, emotional, physical, and sensory development of young children, particularly those aged 0–8 years.
In September I will start studying for a Master's in Psychology, with the goal of becoming an Educational Psychologist.
I'm deeply passionate about advocating for children's needs and empowering families to give their children the strongest possible start in life, so they can thrive and reach their full potential.
My areas of expertise include sensory learning and calming behaviour strategies. In addition to my teaching background, I also have personal experience supporting a loved one with an eating disorder, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and autism.

I love supporting families and their children and I am a strong advocate that there is not a one size fits all approach. By booking a call we can discuss what you need support with and how I can support your family with practical ideas.
I also offer professional talks on my CARE Approach to behaviour a practical caring guide to supporting all children to achieve their potential.

Whether you need assistance completing part or all of an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or an Early Help Assessment (EHA), I’m here to support you through the process.
I offer scheduled calls where we can work through the forms together—either just with you or with your child involved, if appropriate. During our sessions, I’ll guide you through each section, helping you understand:
What information is required
What to request from your child’s school as supporting evidence
The key timeframes involved in each stage of the process
Using the information you provide, I’ll help you identify and highlight the most important details to include in the application. My goal is to help you present a clear and compelling case that reflects your child’s needs accurately.
